What Point Me At It does
Point Me At It helps you aim yourself toward a specified location. You can choose a location from history, coordinates, place search, or the map, then use Compass, AR, and Map views to see direction and distance.
Common questions
Why does the app ask for location access?
The app needs your current location and heading to calculate the bearing and straight-line distance to your selected destination.
Why does AR mode ask for camera access?
AR mode uses the camera feed to show on-device destination guidance overlays. If you prefer not to grant camera access, you can still use Compass and Map modes.
Where are my saved destinations stored?
Saved destinations and app preferences are stored locally on your device.
How do I remove my saved data?
Delete saved destinations inside the app. Removing the app also removes app data stored locally by the app, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior.
Place search is not returning what I expect.
Place lookup depends on Apple MapKit services and your current network and location context. Try a more specific search term or use map selection or direct coordinates instead.
Troubleshooting
- If direction looks off, step outdoors and let the location and heading settle for a moment.
- If AR mode is unavailable, confirm camera permission is enabled in iPhone Settings.
- If the app cannot determine your position, confirm Location Services are enabled for Point Me At It.
