Every hour, and who it was for.

If you volunteer for several organizations — or do a few different kinds of work for one — Volunteer Buddy is where that record lives. Log what you did, who it was for, and how long it took, and the app turns those entries into totals you can break down: hours by organization, by activity type, by location, for a month, a year, or any range you choose. When you want to see how much time you gave and to what, the answer is already there.

The detail is the point, so it's built to be cheap. Organizations, activity types, and locations are set up once and reused, and you can create a new one mid-entry without losing your place — a fully categorized session still takes seconds to log. If you're just getting started, a single organization and the built-in General activity type will give you a running hour count, and you can add structure later without redoing anything.

It's deliberately a small tool with one job. Volunteer Buddy is your side of the record — it doesn't schedule your shifts, and it doesn't connect to the volunteer-management platforms your organizations may run. What it gives you instead is a complete, personal history that doesn't depend on any of them: it stays yours when you move on from an organization, and it's there when a platform you never controlled loses your hours or shuts down.
