Set up organizations, activity types, and locations
Reusable records keep logging fast and keep reports clean. You can add them before logging, or create many of them from the Log Activity flow when you first need them.
Create organizations
Use Organizations for the places or groups you volunteer with. Add a website or notes if they help you recognize the organization later.

Use activity types for categories of work
Activity types describe what you did: tutoring, food sorting, trail maintenance, transport, and similar categories. The built-in General type is always available and cannot be deleted.

Limit an activity type to one organization when appropriate
An activity type can apply to any organization, or it can be associated with a specific organization. Organization-specific types appear first when you log work for that organization.

Add reusable locations
Locations are optional, but they help when the same work usually happens in the same place. A location can be available to any organization or tied to one organization.

Archive records you no longer use
Archive organizations, activity types, or locations when you want to hide them from normal new-entry choices but keep historical activities and reports intact.
